The FCC has announced a two-year pilot program that would fund up to 85% of the costs for the design, construction and use of dedicated broadband networks in order to expand the availability and use of tele-health and tele-medicine, particularly in rural areas. Unlike existing rural health subsidy programs, this new program specifically contemplates that major urban health centers would be eligible to participate and receive funding if they include rural health care providers in the network.

Power Air (OTCBB: PWAC) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Autobotics Inc regarding the recycling of zinc.  Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will work together to manufacture and recycle the spent fuel from the first indoor generator.  Power Air then intends to market the zinc fueled generator worldwide as a no emission backup generator for both indoor and outdoor use.

In a recent online edition of Clinical Oncology, PET scanning is introduced for the first time as a standardized method to assess the progression of a patient’s lymphoma treatment.  This marks the first time that the standards have been revisited on an international scale.  PET imaging, in contrast to traditional CT scanning, can discern the difference between a tumor and scar tissue left behind after a successful surgery.  The efficacy of the scanning allows for a definitive diagnosis in both cases of there being no tumor or the presence of one.  This will allow for greater speed in treatment for those with the tumor, and a clearer indication of health for those with a negative PET scan.
