Wal-Mart subsidiary offers double-digit net income growth

Ever wonder what your life would be like today if you or your parents had possessed the foresight to invest in Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT) back when it was just a young, upstart company from Northwest Arkansas?

Cut costs and trim waistlines.  That is what Dynacq Healthcare, Inc. (NASDAQ: DYII), a company that operates acute care hospitals in Louisiana and Texas, hopes to do in China, where obesity among men and women ages 18-44 grew by a whopping 146.2 percent from 1992 to 2002, according to data collected from the China National Nutrition and Health Survey.

More than 4.5 million patients need blood transfusions each year in the US and Canada. Every three seconds someone needs a blood transfusion, while on average, one out of every 7 people entering the hospital will need blood. About 37 out of every 100 Americans are eligible to donate blood – while only 3 to 4 people out of every 100 actually donate each year. These are only a few facts about blood.

The US Department of Energy predicts world energy consumption will rise 71% by 2030. Meanwhile, the International Energy Agency forecasts the continued use of fossil fuels will cause global greenhouse gas emissions to increase by 55%. In these circumstances, the need for cheaper and cleaner energy source is evident.

Those who believe investing is simply a matter of evaluating the bottom line have obviously not examined the fundamentals of too many biotech corporations. Many emerging biotech firms are years away from actual production, and have horrific balance sheets. That does not mean potential investors should shy away from them altogether, but they really need to understand the story and how likely it is that the company will deliver the goods.

To date, over 4.9 million adult men and women are under Federal, State, or local probation or parole jurisdiction.  Of these, approximately 4,162,500 are on probation and 784,400 on parole.  The U.S. Courts need to monitor these probationers and parolees to prevent them from further committing other violations or crimes.  RemoteMDX’s goal, i.e., to dominate the offender monitoring market, is in-line to meet this need.

According to the global survey on organic farming 2007, conducted by the Foundation Ecology & Agriculture SOEL and the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture FiBL, organic agriculture is developing rapidly and is now practiced in more than 120 countries of the world. Almost 31 million hectares are currently managed organically by at least 633,891 farms.

According to IMS Health’s 2008 Global Pharmaceutical Market and Therapy  Forecast, the global pharmaceutical market is expected to grow at a 5-6% pace next year, compared with 6-7% in 2007.  The forecast predicts global pharmaceutical sales to expand to US$735 - 745 billion next year.  The seven “pharmerging” markets of China, Brazil, Mexico, South Korea, India, Turkey and Russia are expected to grow 12 - 13 % next year, to $85 - 90 billion.
